This tour is a perfect blend of natural beauty, historical landmarks, geological wonders and culinary delights.
We start the trip by visiting Ponte Arouca 516, the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world that spans more than 500 meters and offers breathtaking views over the Paiva River and the surrounding landscape.
Next, we explore Passadiços do Paiva, an 8km wooden boardwalk that follows the river and offers stunning views of the landscape, and an opportunity to spot wildlife.
Then we visit the Convent of Arouca, a well-preserved Romanesque architecture that reflects the rich history of the city or for those interested in geology, we can head to the Arouca Geopark, where we can explore geological wonders such as waterfalls, rock formations and caves.
Finally, we delight in the traditional cuisine of the region, with its generous stews, grilled meats and sweets.

This 8 km long wooden walkway follows the Paiva River and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding nature. The trail is a must-visit for nature lovers and hikers. (Extra cost of €2 per person)

When we look at 516 Arouca from the outside, with the immensity of nature that surrounds it and the 175 meters of height that separate it from the wild Paiva river below, the first impression may be that of a simple metallic line suspended in the sky. (Extra cost of €12 per person)

Alvarenga
Taste the local gastronomy: Arouca and Alvarenga is known for its hearty stews, grilled meats and sweet pastries. Local restaurants offer the opportunity to taste the flavors of Arouca and Alvarenga and experience the gastronomic traditions of the region. (Lunch not included)

This village is another example of the numerous Traditional Villages of Arouca, with traditional inhabitants who live from the work and agriculture of their lands.
It is common to see cattle on the road, or goats in the streets and paths of the villages in this region.
