Nairobi-Samburu

Samburu National Reserve
Depart Nairobi at 0700hrs early in the morning, driving through central Kenya and the northern district of Laikipia. You will have a few stops along the way to take photographs. Arrive at Samburu Game Reserve at 1300hrs in time for lunch at your lodge. At around 1500hrs in the afternoon, proceed on your first game drive, exploring the rugged landscape and scouting for the distinctive wildlife that call this place home.

Shaba National Reserve
Spend the full day in Samburu with morning and afternoon game drives. Start at 0600hrs to 0900hrs for the early sunrise game drive. Return to camp for breakfast and refresh. Relax in the lodge and rest before lunch. Have lunch and start your afternoon sunset game drive at 1500hrs. You'll explore and enjoy Samburu with its sparse vegetation, spotting animals against the arid backdrop is an easier task, making your game viewing experience all the more rewarding. Look out for the Special Five - the Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Grevy's zebra, and gerenuk. Back at the lodge, enjoy the stunning vistas, possibly spotting wildlife from the comfort of your room.

Lake Nakuru
Enjoy an early morning game drive and the magnificent scenery as you exit Samburu reserve. There shall be a stop to view the Thompson falls at Nyahururu. Proceed to Lake Nakuru. Marvel at this bird life sanctuary experiencing great sightings of the white and black rhinos A perfect habitat of yellow acacia & giant Euphorbia trees. Of great interest is the rare, endangered Rothschild giraffe naturalized in this park after being relocated from soy plains of Eldoret in 1974.
The greatest attraction, flamingos form a flamboyance of pink color on the edges of the lake. The abundance of the blue green algae naturally present in the lake forms the primary food source for the flamingos.
Visitors can also enjoy the panoramic view of the lake from the baboon cliff, the highest point in the park. Other animals to be seen are- large herds of buffaloes, Defassa Waterbuck, Impalas, Grants and Thompson gazelles, Lions, Baboons, Cheetahs, Elands, Leopard, Spotted Hyena, Black and White Colobus etc.

Enjoy an early bird and game viewing enroute Maasai mara reserve. Arrive at the time for lunch. In the afternoon after you check in depart for a game viewing drive in the Mara Reserve. Return back to the lodge for a sumptuous dinner at Mara Maisha Camp. Masai Mara Reserve is the most popular tourism destination in Kenya. Located in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grassland. Wildlife is most concentrated on the reserve’s western escarpment. It's regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife Viewing areas. The annual wildebeest’s migration alone involves over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November. Hardly can a visitor miss to spot the big five. The phenomenal wildebeest migration which is a spectacular event only seen in Masai mara is the 8th wonder of the world.

Spend the full day exploring Masai Mara in search of the Big Five. You will have picnic lunches as you do the game drives. There are lots of resident Hippos and crocodiles sited at the banks of Mara River. Optional: In the evening, Visit the local Masai village for a Masai cultural tour at USD20. Learn about the Masai community and interact with the local Masai people. An overnight at the Masai village can be organized upon request. A balloon safari at can be organized early morning on this day then proceed with the normal program. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the great migration. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture.
