The old Forum Iulii, today's Cividale, was built around the year 50 BC. Founded by Julius Caesar. After the Lombards invaded in 568, Cividale became the capital of their first Italian duchy. The name is derived from Civitas Austriae, as the city was named by Charlemagne in 776 after the conquest by the Franks. I cordially invite you to leisurely walks through the city. It is with great pleasure that I show you the city of Cividale. In two and a half - three hours we can see the most important things in a leisurely way. I will also tell you the exciting story of Albuin and his wife Rosamunda. During this time we also have time to visit the two museums / Museo cristiano and Tempietto Longobardo /. We can then precisely agree on our walk plan. If you need any kind of information or help with your arrival or at any other time, you can always contact me
