Big Buddha Phuket Phuket's Big Buddha is one of the most important and revered landmarks on the island. The huge image sits on top of the Nakkerd Hills between Chalong and Kata and, at 45 meters tall, can be seen from as far away as Phuket Town and Karon Beach.

Old Phuket Town Lively Phuket Old Town is known for brightly painted, century-old Sino-Portuguese townhouses, with a well-preserved row along Soi Rommanee. Main street Thalang Road has stores selling artisanal ice cream and batik fabrics and a Sunday market for souvenirs and street food like fried banana. The Thai Hua Museum features exhibits on Chinese immigrant culture, and Jui Tui Shrine displays colorful statues of Chinese gods.

The most important of the 29 Buddhist temples of Phuket is Wat Chalong or formally Wat Chaiyathararam. It is dedicated to two highly venerable monks, Luang Pho Chaem and Luang Pho Chuang, who led the citizens of Chalong Subdistrict fighting against the Chinese rebellion in 1876 and with their knowledge of herbal medicine helped the injured. The large market at Wat Chalong extends into the grounds of the temple and features amplified pop music and Thai-fighting advertisements. The temple sells trinkets to visitors and the monks assist by storing boxes of items in their main prayer hall.

The Big Bee Farm is the largest of its kind in Thailand and is on a mission to educate Thailand and those that visit about the vast benefits of Thai Honey. Promthep Cape (Afternoon tour choice) Promthep Cape is one of the most photographed locations in Phuket. Every evening, tour buses, scooters and private cars sweep through Rawai Beach and up the island's southernmost hill to watch the sunset, which can also be spelt as 'Phromthep Cape' (though it's said the same way). There's also a lighthouse displaying interesting historical maritime artefacts here. It commands spectacular views over the east and southeast of the island and its environs.

Karon Viewpoint (Morning tour choice) Karon Viewpoint is one of the most frequented viewpoints in Phuket. Located between Nai Harn and Kata Noi beaches, it's busy most days of the year and a popular stop in many tour itineraries. From here, You can take in views of Kata Noi, Kata Yai and Karon beaches. Karon Viewpoint is located just to the south of Kata Noi Beach. It looks out directly out to the Andaman Sea, though most people have their cameras pointed north at the impressive 8-km vista of Phuket's 3 west coast beaches.
