Itinerary

CUSCO - WAYLLABAMBA

In the morning we pick you up from your hotel, after crossing the towns of Chincheros, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo we will go to Chilca / Km 82, there we will have an explanation and recommendation to start trekking, in addition we have to show the documents in the income control of the Inca Trail. We stop for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to have lunch, then start trekking to the first camp in Wayllabamba, after a guided tour of the Llactapata Archaeological Group.

WAYLLABAMBA - PACAYMAYO

After breakfast, the hardest part of the road begins, with a steep climb, followed by 3 hours of walking until reaching the first step, called Warmiwañusca (Dead Woman) at 4,200 m.a.s.l. approximately, here you will not only enjoy incredible panoramic views of the entire area but you will also have the satisfaction of having reached the highest point. After a well-deserved rest we will descend to Pacaymayo for lunch, camping and then dinner.

PACAYMAYO - WIÑAYHUAYNA

Winay Wayna After taste an energetic breakfast we begin ascending to the second most height part of the route at 3,800 m.a.s.l. During the walk we will enjoy a guided tour of the archaeological zone of Runkuraqay where we will find important vestiges of the Inca Culture. Then we continue to Sayacmarca, where we will have lunch to continue walking and watching how the geography changes from dry and mountainous aspect to tropical green. On this route is Phuyupatamarca (village in the clouds), another important archaeological monument. After a short walk we arrive at the last campsite Wiñayhuayna, where we will have dinner and spend the night.

WIÑAYHUAYNA – MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO

Santuario Historico de Machu Picchu After breakfast, we will walk for an hour through the forest to the Inti Punku (Sun Gate), known as the entrance door to Machu Picchu, from where you have an impressive panoramic view of the citadel. Upon arrival to Machu Picchu, we will have the guided tour of the citadel, through the main remains and monuments, such as the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the royal quarters, the temple of the Three Windows and the cemeteries. At the appropriate time we will descend from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes to board the train back to Ollantaytambo, where a representative will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel in Cusco.
